Аннотация предложения
Czech researchers offer a new design method of modern traction units for road and railway vehicles. The new method is focused on software calculations therefore the development itself is cheaper. The result is the design of an economically effective device. Researchers are looking for producers of electric traction units with focus on electro-mechanics or electro-energetics who could be interested in technical cooperation.

Czech researchers offer a new design method of modern electro-mechanic system for the design of electrical machines, especially in the transportation industry. Commonly used method is based on analytical calculations of basic dimensions of electric and magnetic circuit of the machine. In addition, the method is supplemented by the following optimization steps:

I. Optimization of price-to-performance ratio
Based on results of electromagnetic calculation of the machine (analytical calculation) a numeric calculation using finite element method is performed. In comparison to the commonly used method this analysis is able to find out dimension reserves of the primary design. The geometry of the machine can be modified for the purpose of reducing material costs.

II. Optimization of operational costs of a technological unit
Based on designed geometry, calculations of losses using finite element method are performed. This is used for further thermal and ventilation analysis. The purpose of these calculations is obtaining an optimal design of the whole unit both from the electromagnetic and the thermal point of view, where the main factors are properties of materials. Calculations of these steps consider the placement of the machine in the vehicle. Obtained results are discussed and eventually used for re-designing of the unit. The main target is obtaining the highest possible efficiency of the design.

The analysis of cooling and ventilation system utilizes knowledge of two scientific domains - aerodynamics and thermo-mechanics.

III. Checking calculation for verification of operational parameters of traction unit.
The research is primarily targeted on electric traction, specifically traction units for hybrid vehicles and other road and railway vehicles (trams, trains, buses, freight cars). Researchers develop all kinds of actuators.

The use of optimization steps in addition to the commonly used methods leads to the economically effective traction units design. Furthermore, the use of the finite element method allows verification of even untested constructional layout of electric machinery.
1. This method designs traction unit with the lowest possible purchasing and operational costs.
2. This method is suitable for development of new electro-mechanic systems and also for innovations of machines already in use.
3. The development itself is cheaper, because the method itself deals with software computation.
